Quiet buildings,
made for the
Nordic light.

Architecture practice · Bergen, Norway

A small studio of six. We work in timber and daylight — houses, cabins and the occasional small public room — drawn slowly, detailed by hand.

We believe a building should ask little and give much — warmth, shelter, a frame around the day, and silence enough to hear the weather.

Selected work

Quietly noticed.

We don't chase publication, but the work has been kind enough to travel.

The studio method

We design around the light.

Every plan begins with where the sun falls in winter. Walk a year through one of our rooms and watch the daylight change — in Bergen it is never the same hour twice.

An honest palette,
left to age well.

A few natural materials, detailed to weather slowly and to be repaired rather than replaced.

The studio

Six people,
drawing by hand.

We are deliberately small. Every project is led from sketch to site by the same architect, and most of our drawings still begin in pencil before they become a building.

From a top-floor studio on Strandgaten we work across western Norway — and travel to every site, in every season, before we draw a line.
